Referral fee vs. white label

Stop referring the student.
Own the traffic school.

A referral program pays your school for sending a customer somewhere else. A white-label platform lets your school set the course price, receive the payment, serve the student under your brand, and see the operation from one dashboard.

The basic difference

A referral fee pays for the lead. White-label software powers your school.

Both models can put an online course in front of a student. The important question is who owns the price, payment, brand, customer relationship, and operating data.

Referral arrangement

You send the student away.

  1. Your site or staff refers the student to another provider.
  2. The provider controls the checkout and collects the tuition.
  3. Your school receives the agreed referral payment or commission.

Exact payouts and responsibilities vary by provider and contract.

Traffic School Technologies

The student enrolls with your school.

  1. Your school sets the student price and presents its own brand.
  2. The payment goes directly to your own Stripe account.
  3. We bill a flat $10 per paid student, separately, each month.

Your school registers with the DMV and operates under its own DMV license/provider number.

Illustrative economics

Same student. Very different relationship.

This example uses a $5 referral payout and a $39 school-set course price to make the two models concrete. Replace those figures with your actual referral terms and desired price.

Referral example

$5

paid to your school

The outside provider collects the student's tuition. Your school receives the referral payout.

White-label example

$39−$10=$29

remaining with your school

The student pays $39 into your Stripe account. The $10 platform fee is billed separately.

Illustrative gross amounts only. The $29 does not account for Stripe processing, refunds, taxes, marketing, or other school operating expenses. It is not a revenue promise.

Built to run

School-owned does not mean manually operated.

The platform handles the repetitive student and compliance workflow while your dashboard keeps the business visible.

  1. 1

    Enroll and collect payment

Students register on your branded site and pay your price into your Stripe account.

  2. 2

    Deliver the course

The English and Spanish course, final exam, identity checks, and anti-cheat controls run online.

  3. 3

    File the completion

Passing completions are e-filed automatically using your school's configured DMV provider number.

  4. 4

    Monitor the operation

See revenue, student progress, and filing status in the owner dashboard.

Clear billing

Your student revenue and our platform bill stay separate.

Student payments go to your Stripe account as they happen. We meter paid students and bill your school $10 per paid student by ACH after the month closes.

There is no monthly platform fee and no traffic school setup fee. The one-time $25 school-name registration fee is paid directly to the DMV.

Owner visibility

See the activity behind the monthly platform bill.

Paid signups are visible alongside revenue, active students, completions, and DMV filing status. You can follow the operation throughout the month instead of waiting for a summary after it closes.

  • Monitor paid signups and net revenue
  • See active learners and completion progress
  • Follow students through the DMV filing stage
